Trekking is the core. Here's the rest.
Day-walks around Pokhara through to 16-day routes like Manaslu Circuit. Plus the day-tours and adventure-sport add-ons that trekkers ask us to slot in before or after the main trip.
Trekking
Day hikes around Pokhara through to multi-week routes — EBC (5,364 m), ABC (4,130 m), Manaslu Circuit (Larkya La 5,106 m).
Mountain biking
Kathmandu-to-Pokhara, Lower Mustang, and Kathmandu Valley rim rides. Hardtails and a support vehicle on the longer routes.
Paragliding
Tandem flights from Sarangkot above Phewa Lake, Pokhara. About 30 minutes airborne, weather permitting.
Jungle safari
Stays in Chitwan and Bardiya National Park — one-horned rhino, gharial along the river, occasional Bengal tiger sightings in Bardiya.
Cultural day tours
Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur, Patan, Boudha stupa, Pashupati — half- or full-day, with a local guide.
Rafting
Trishuli (grade 2–3) for first-timers; Bhote Koshi and Sun Koshi for stronger paddlers. One- to nine-day options.
Not sure which one? Send us your dates and group size — we will suggest a fit.
Why book with Nepal Travel Mate
Nepal Travel Mate is a small Kathmandu trek operator. We plan and run the trips ourselves — there is no reseller layer between you and the team on the trail.
Nepali trail leads
Lead guides are Nepal Tourism Board licensed and grew up in the regions we operate — Khumbu, Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang.
Safe by design
First-aid trained guides, a pulse oximeter on every trek, and conservative acclimatisation built into itineraries above 3,000 m.
Small groups
We cap group sizes to keep guide-to-trekker ratios manageable on high passes maximum 12 trekkers per departure.

Our porters, guides, and office team are hired in Nepal. Teahouse stays are with the same family-run lodges on each route, year after year.
Permits handled in-house
TIMS, ACAP, MCAP, Sagarmatha National Park, and restricted-area permits for Manaslu and Upper Mustang — sorted before you land.

Before your trip
4 questions
What is the best season for trekking in Nepal?
The two main windows are autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). Autumn comes with stable weather after the monsoon, clear mountain views, and busy trails — book early. Spring is warmer with rhododendron in bloom at mid altitudes; expect occasional pre-monsoon haze. December to February is cold and quiet, with snow likely on high passes (Thorong La, Cho La, Larkya La can close). June to August is monsoon — only rain-shadow areas like Upper Mustang and Dolpo work then.
Do I need prior trekking experience?
It depends on the route. Ghorepani Poon Hill (3,210 m, 4 days) and Mardi Himal (4,500 m, 5 days) work as a first multi-day trek. For Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), Annapurna Circuit (Thorong La 5,416 m), or Manaslu Circuit (Larkya La 5,106 m) we recommend prior hiking experience and consistent cardio training in the months leading up.
How physically fit do I need to be?
For most moderate-grade treks you should be comfortable walking five to seven hours a day on uneven terrain with elevation gain. Two to three months of regular cardiovascular training (jogging, hill walking, cycling, swimming) before departure is the honest baseline.
Are your guides licensed and experienced?
Yes. Lead guides are Nepal Tourism Board licensed and first-aid trained. The April 2023 NTB rule requires foreign trekkers in Nepal to be accompanied by a registered guide on restricted-area routes (Manaslu, Upper Mustang, Tsum Valley, Nar Phu) — we comply on every applicable trip.
Booking and payment
4 questions
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel 30 or more days before the start date: refund of everything paid, less the 25% non-refundable deposit and a US$75 administration fee. Cancel 14 to 29 days before: we retain 50% of the trek price. Under 14 days, or no-show: full trek price forfeit. Force majeure (earthquake, regional closure, government travel ban, prolonged Lukla closure) is handled separately as a no-penalty rebook within 24 months. The full schedule is on our Terms page.
Do I need to pay the full amount in advance?
No. A 25% deposit confirms your booking and triggers permit applications. The balance is payable in cash (US dollars or Nepali rupees) on arrival in Kathmandu, or by bank transfer at least 14 days before departure. We accept bank transfer, Wise, and major credit cards via Stripe.
What is included in the trek cost?
Inclusions vary by trek and are listed on each trek page. Typically: airport transfers in Kathmandu, hotel nights in Kathmandu either side of the trek, teahouse accommodation on trail, all meals on trek, a Nepal Tourism Board licensed lead guide, porter support, all required permits (TIMS plus ACAP / MCAP / Sagarmatha National Park entry / restricted-area permits as applicable), and a basic first-aid kit. International flights, travel insurance, tips, and personal gear are not included.
How do I book a trip with you?
Browse the trek list, pick your dates, and send a booking enquiry. We confirm by email within one working day with a deposit invoice and the permit information we need from you (passport scan, arrival date). The 25% deposit secures your dates; the trek is confirmed in writing once the deposit clears.
