Before your trip
Seasons, preparation and guides
The two main windows are autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). Autumn has stable post-monsoon weather and clearer views; spring is warmer with rhododendron at mid altitudes. Winter is cold and quieter, while the monsoon generally suits only rain-shadow areas such as Upper Mustang and Dolpo.
